Tushar Saxena, a journalist, was surprised to receive a message informing him of the fine. Initially, he ignored it thinking that it was a mistake, but when he received further notifications via email and message, he decided to look into the matter.
Saxena, who resides in Rampur district, about 200 kilometres from Noida, claimed that he has never driven his car in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district.Despite this, the fine was issued, reportedly for driving his Hyundai Grand i10 Nios in Noida without a helmet on November 9 last year.

When Saxena contacted the police, they advised him that failure to pay would result in a court appearance.
This isn’t the first time such an error has occurred. In Jhansi, a similar incident occurred where a man was fined Rs 1,000 for not wearing a helmet, despite driving an Audi car. The man, Bahadur Singh Parihar from Nandu Colony, was left in a peculiar situation when he approached the local traffic police to contest the fine. What did he do next to contest the challan? Well, he actually started wearing a helmet while driving his car.
This odd scenario could be the result of an error in the automated camera surveillance systems increasingly used by traffic authorities. These systems, designed to improve road safety by catching violations in real-time, might sometimes misinterpret situations or could be simple human oversight.
